About Us
My involvement in Vizslas began in 1995. Having owned English Springer Spaniels, I had always loved sporting dogs. When I met my first Vizsla I fell head over heels in love. This beautiful and elegant red dog can look so aristocratic and underneath that royal demeanor they are lovable dogs with a real sense of humor. Their affectionate nature appealed to me, and their need to be as close to their humans as possible. They really do consider themselves lap dogs! Yet they are a breed that is truly versatile. Vizslas are stars in the field, the show ring, agility, obedience, tracking, almost any venue there is.
I began my search for a reputable breeder which led me to my first vizsla, a male, Vizion’s Golden Venture. He arrived in August of 1995, a little red bundle of joy. He settled right into the family and we have enjoyed many adventures together over the years, dabbling in agility and obedience, which eventually led to my interest in showing in the conformation ring. When I started to look for a show prospect I knew that I wanted to go back to Venture’s lines. He has such a charming personality and temperament and he’s always enjoyed good health. So when I learned that his sire had been bred again to a very nice champion bitch I decided to take the plunge and ask to be added to the breeder’s list for a show quality female. Thus, Song (Ch Prairie Heartsong) entered our life in December 2000 and even more adventures followed.
