Although her half-brother, Vizion’s Golden Venture was our first vizsla, Song was our first vizsla to compete in the conformation ring. I asked her breeder, Luellen Hart of Prairie Vizslas, to send me a show girl and did she ever! Song finished her championship at the tender of age 9 months, owner-handled except for that first point which she won with her good friend and mentor who handled her in her specials career, Laurin Howard. She finished with a 4 point major at the Vizsla Club of Greater Cleveland specialty, July 14, 2001 under judge Sandra Lex going Best of Winners. She also won Best in Sweepstakes at that same specialty under breeder Corinne Miklos.

After some time off to grow up, we began specialing Song in April of 2002, which was her warm up year ending up number 11 in breed points. She also earned an Award of Merit at the 2002 Vizsla National Specialty under judge Judy Doniere. She went on to garner two group wins in 2003, one under judge Bettyann Hale, and the other under Anne Katona, won a Best in Specialty at the Gateway Vizsla Club in September, and earned another Award of Merit at the 2003 Vizsla Nationals under judge Judy Webb. She was no. 3 vizsla all systems in all breed points in 2003, and no. 4 all systems in breed points. Then it was on to Westminster in February 2004 where she won the breed under judge Marjorie Martorella.
